| Michigan State University’s Certification in College Teaching Program |
MSU's Certification in College Teaching is a Graduate School and College partnership. It was designed for graduate students to organize and develop their teaching experiences in a systematic and thoughtful way, with assistance from College faculty and central campus offices and programs, in a manner similar to the formal process already in place for the research experience. Program components include creating learning environments, discipline-related teaching strategies, assessment of learning, technology in the classroom, and understanding the academy. Graduate students participate in a mentored teaching experience and develop a teaching portfolio to highlight, organize, and reflect upon their teaching experiences. Upon completion of the program, which was formally approved by the University’s Graduate Council, the student will receive an MSU Certificate in College Teaching from the appropriate department or college and a transcript notation.
