Costs and Funding The STEM Education Scholars Program began with support from the National Science Foundation. Deans across the country have endorsed this program. The program is appropriate for inclusion with "start-up" packages for new faculty. Accepted applicants agree to pay $1000 for participation. The cost includes some meals, conference materials, and daily travel from the hotel to Vanderbilt University. Travel expenses and lodging are not included in the program fee. Funding For an assistant professor, the program is an excellent component of the start-up package.
