Costs
Accepted applicants agree to pay $1500 for participation in the 2007 STEMES Program. Cost includes double-occupancy lodging (single-occupancy rooms available for an additional $200), some meals, conference materials and daily travel from the hotel to Howard University. Airfare is not included in the $1500 program fee.

Funding
Funding is necessary to cover $1500 program fee (this includes double-occupancy lodging) plus transportation. Single-occupancy lodging is available upon request for an additional $200.

For an assistant professor, the program is an excellent component of the start-up package. A typical plan to share the funding includes a sharing among two sources:
- College
- Department

For a graduate student, a typical plan to share the funding includes sharing among three sources:
- College
- Department
- Graduate School
