Technology Requirements for Logging into Blackboard Collaborate (formerly Elluminate)
Coffee Hours are hosted in Blackboard Collaborate web-conferencing software. Blackboard Collaborate uses Voice over IP (VoIP) for the audio component, which requires a computer/webcam microphone and headphones. Headphones are required to prevent the feedback that occurs when participants use their computer speakers for audio. These headphones can be the earbuds from your mp3 player or any other style of headphone.
If you do not have a microphone (either external, built in or as part of a headset) you can log into Blackboard Collaborate and use the telephone to talk. Telephone details will be provided when signing into the session.
Please review these materials to familiarize yourself with Blackboard Collaborate prior to the Coffee Hour
