Teri Balser named 2010 U.S. Professor of the Year

The Chronicle reports today that Teresa C. Balser, Associate professor of soil science, University of Wisconsin at Madison was recently named one of four US Professors of the Year by Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching, and the Council for Advancement and Support of Education.  Teri has been a collaborator with the Delta Program on Research, Teaching and Learning for several years and she currently serves on the Delta Steering Committee. CIRTL Graduate student wins national leadership award

A University of Wisconsin-Madison CIRTL graduate student has received a prestigious national award recognizing future leaders in higher education. The award, given since 1996, is sponsored by K. Patricia Cross, David Gardner Professor of Higher Education emerita at the University of California, Berkeley. It recognizes doctoral students who "show exemplary promise as future leaders of higher education; who demonstrate a commitment to developing academic and civic responsibility in themselves and others; and whose work reflects a strong emphasis on teaching and learning.
