CIRTL Virtual Coffee Hour

Welcome to the 2011-2012 CIRTL Coffee Hour Series

Coffee Hours are informal, topical discussions facilitated by CIRTL and are held on the 3rd Tuesday at 1:00pm CT (2pm ET / 12 noon MT / 11am PT) in our online classroom. No need to preregister, just return to this page to enter into our online classroom.

In order to participate in our virtual room in Blackboard Collaborate it is necessary to have some sort of headphones or ear buds. Click to learn more about the technology requirements for Blackboard Collaborate.

The Coffee Hour series has come to a close for the 2011 - 2012 academic year. Check back in August for details on future Coffee Hours.

Technology Requirements for Logging into Blackboard Collaborate (formerly Elluminate)

Coffee Hours are hosted in Blackboard Collaborate web-conferencing software. Blackboard Collaborate uses Voice over IP (VoIP) for the audio component, which requires a computer or webcam microphone and headphones. Headphones are required to prevent the feedback that occurs when participants use their computer speakers for audio. These headphones can be the earbuds from your mp3 player or any other style of headphone.

If you do not have a microphone (either external, built in or as part of a headset) you can log into Blackboard Collaborate and use the telephone to talk. Telephone details will be provided when signing into the session.

Please review these materials to familiarize yourself with Blackboard Collaborate prior to the Coffee Hour
