MERLOT ELIXR Project: Video Stories That Illustrate Exemplary Teaching Practice

The MERLOT ELIXR project is intended to develop and test new collaborations amongst faculty development centers and online resource repositories. The goal is to create innovative models for the development, sharing and use of discipline-oriented resources which illustrate exemplary teaching practices and which also support faculty with exemplary learning objects to help implement those practices with their students.

Career Development Opportunity for BIOLOGY POSTDOCS

Postdoctoral scholars in any field of biology are invited to apply for FIRST IV, a professional development program funded by the National Science Foundation that will prepare them for the teaching component of their career. Participants will attend two, 4-day workshops during summers, one in 2009 followed by another in 2010, at a regional field station (locations and dates linked below).

Network Exchange Program - Campus Requirements

 

A designated CIRTL contact at each Network campus will serve as the local program coordinator at each campus.

 

Home campus requirements: 

  1. Market the Network Exchange program to local graduates students and post-doctoral researchers.
  2. Review home campus applications.
  3. Collect, review and save participant & advisor signature page.
  4. Assist applicants in making disciplinary connections with a host campus.

Exchange Program Overview

The CIRTL Network Exchange Program is a two to three day visit to a host campus within the Network. This program is designed to give applicants the opportunity to give a Teaching-as-Research colloquium and interact with disciplinary colleagues at the CIRTL Network institution.
