| Title | Making Group Work Work: Teaching TAs to Use Cooperative Group Work |

| Abstract | While the education literature clearly suggests that instructors can realize greater learning outcomes for their students through active learning activities, they rarely receive any training on how to use active techniques successfully. In response to this problem, I developed a workshop focused on teaching TAs how to facilitate cooperative group work. In this talk, I will discuss the development of that workshop along with results from assessments that demonstrate its effectiveness. |
