Delta Program Recruiting for Assistant/Associate Director
Note: This job posting has been revised.
The Delta Program in Research, Teaching and Learning (www.delta.wisc.edu) at the University of Wisconsin - Madison is seeking a new Assistant/Associate Director. The Delta Program prepares graduate students and post-doctoral fellows (future faculty) in the natural and social sciences, engineering and mathematics to be excellent teachers as well as excellent researchers. The interdisciplinary learning community of the Delta Program provides a core curriculum of graduate courses and semester-long small-group facilitated groups, an array of occasional graduate courses and facilitated groups, a mentor training program, a Teaching-as-Research internship program, the Delta certificate program and other learning community activities. The Delta Program was the prototype learning community of the NSF-funded Center for the Integration of Research, Teaching and Learning (CIRTL; www.cirtl.net). The Delta Program now is part of the CIRTL Network, a network of 25 major research universities building on the CIRTL core ideas. Delta continues to be studied by the CIRTL research team in collaboration with Delta staff. Thus this position is both local and national in scope. The primary responsibility will be managing and enhancing the current and future components of the Delta Program, and the vitality and growth of the Delta learning community. The position provides connections to contribute to and draw from the national learning community of the CIRTL Network. Finally, the position provides an opportunity to engage in research on professional development in STEM teaching and learning in higher education. Additional information, descriptions of the necessary skills and experience, and application procedures and deadline can be found at: http://www.ohr.wisc.edu/pvl/pv_074892.html
