Upcoming Coffee Hours
Our Coffee Hour series starts again in January with the following events:
January 16: “Electronic distractions in the classroom: managing and utilizing the instant connections to the world”
To kick off our second Coffee Hour Series, “Teaching and Learning in the STEM Classroom,” Mary Elizabeth Besterfield-Sacre of the University of Pittsburgh and Angel Hoekstra of the University of Colorado, Boulder will lead a discussion on handling digital distractions in the classroom.
January 24: “Alternative academic careers”
Continuing the “Building an Academic Career” Coffee Hour series which we started in the fall, Chris Vanags of Vanderbilt University and Anne Poduska of Cornell University will share their experiences with alternative academic careers.
The Coffee Hour series is an opportunity for STEM graduate students, post docs, and faculty to come together to talk and share their experiences about STEM, careers, and teaching. For more information, or to download flyers for these events, visit our Coffee Hour webpage.
