Join us as we kick off our second Coffee Hour Series, “Teaching and Learning in the STEM Classroom,” on Wednesday, January 16 with “Electronic distractions in the classroom: managing and utilizing the instant connections to the world.” This discussion, facilitated by Mary Elizabeth Besterfield-Sacre of the University of Pittsburgh and Angel Hoekstra of the University of Colorado, Boulder, is the first in a series focusing on teaching and learning challenges in the STEM classroom. Future topics include teaching in diverse classrooms, teaching and using writing skills in the STEM classroom, and fostering critical thinking.
