This post is a bit off topic for STEM, but fits nicely for learning-through-diversity in higher education.  I ran across this ad campaign from students at Ohio University aimed at their classmates a while ago over twitter (see link below).  While we are a bit past Halloween, I thought the link to the ad campaign might interest some of you.  The campaign is entitled, "We're a Culture, Not a Costume."

The Delta Program’s Bridging the Achievement Gap project at UW-Madison

Leveraging Diversity: the Wisdom of Crowds in University Teaching

Derek Bruff will be facilitating a diversity workshop here at Vanderbilt on Feb. 22.  This workshop is co-hosted by the CFT and CIRTL. Derek will be  using some unusual books as the jumping off point for the discussions.  We hope this is the first of a series of these diversity-based workshops.

CIRTL Graduate student wins national leadership award

A University of Wisconsin-Madison CIRTL graduate student has received a prestigious national award recognizing future leaders in higher education. The award, given since 1996, is sponsored by K. Patricia Cross, David Gardner Professor of Higher Education emerita at the University of California, Berkeley. It recognizes doctoral students who "show exemplary promise as future leaders of higher education; who demonstrate a commitment to developing academic and civic responsibility in themselves and others; and whose work reflects a strong emphasis on teaching and learning.
